National Law University Delhi is a leading law university in India. The University, in its short journey of ten years has achieved a high place due to its active involvement in research and development activities.

Justice T. P. S. Chawla Library of National Law University Delhi is an indispensable partner with the University in preparing competent lawyers, advancing legal scholarship and research skills. The mission of the Library is to support the teaching and research need of faculty, students, and legal researchers by providing access to high-tech electronic as well as the traditional form of information to enhance and support legal research and scholarship in the 21st century.

The Library is a State of the Art Library and has been named after the Hon’ble Justice Tejinder Pal Singh Chawla, former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court. Library provides an innovative and comprehensive information environment for study and scholarship to prepare students for responsible and productive lives in the legal profession and to support national and international leadership in improving the law and legal institutions through teaching, research, and public services. Library collection development policy emphasizes the acquisition of primary and secondary resources of law and allied subjects. Primarily focuses on treatises and commentaries, Reporting and Academic Journals, Reports and proceedings, legislative & constitutional material, treaties and loose-leaf, dissertations and thesis, moot memorials, encyclopedia & digests and many more along with extensive ranges of national and international electronic resources to access digital contents 24X7 within and outside the campus through IP ranges of University and remote access services. To meet the growing challenges of internet usage and e-learning, the Library has established a legal information resource center. The LIRC is well equipped with 20 high-end desktops with Microsoft operating system and large duty printer and scanners; besides this, a separate bay is provided for laptop users.

In its initiative, the Library of the University has set up an institutional repository naming VIDYA GYAN SANGRAH for preserving intellectual output and digital assets of the University for future generations of the law students, faculty and legal luminaries.

VIDYA GYAN SANGRAH is a stockpile of scholarly literature generated by the National Law University Delhi. Under Vidhya Gyan Sangrah, the University envisions the following type of intellectual assets.

The Library is committed to providing access to its students, not only on campus but also when they are not on campus. The Repository has been designed to facilitate access of intellectual treasure to its faculty, students, and obviously to other law scholars who need it for their advanced legal research and studies.
